You Can Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th Birthday In Missoula On Sunday
Yep, you read that right - Beethoven is turning 250 years old. I can't believe those dog movies came out that long ago!
...Oh, we're talking about the other Beethoven? The legendary, acclaimed classical musician? Yeah, that makes more sense.
In their roundup of things to do around town this weekend, the Missoulian discusses a party happening this Sunday in which the music faculty and students at the University of Montana are gathering together to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday. They're calling it "Beers, Bears and Beethoven," and it's gong to take place at the Stave & Hoop beginning at 7 PM.
A lineup of musicians from the university will be performing some of Beethoven's biggest hits - and if they have half the energy that the man himself did in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, it's gonna be a fun performance.
It's a totally free show to attend, although donations are welcome. Here's the thing, though - although it's being advertised as Beethoven's 250th, this year actually marks Beethoven's 251st birthday. It seems they were going to do a big 250th birthday bash last year, but it was cancelled due to COVID - so really, you're getting two birthday parties in one at this event.
As mentioned, the party begins at 7 PM on Sunday, October 10th. Think you'll be checking it out with all the other classical music fans out there?
