Montana Grizzly Football Humbled by Oregon State Beavers
After two losses to nationally ranked teams, the Oregon State Beavers were looking to take out their frustrations and make a statement.
Unfortunately, it was the University of Montana Grizzlies who fell victim to the speed and size of a powerful offensive attack Saturday night, and were overwhelmed by Oregon State 52-17 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon.
The Beavers methodically put points on the board possession after possession, amassing 510 total yards and scoring seemingly at will. The Griz spotted OSU at 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never put up much resistance. By halftime Montana was down 35-3.
One of the biggest bright spots of the evening for the Griz was the performance of sophomore wide receiver Brooks Davis, who racked up 11 receptions for a total of 135 yards and a touchdown.
Star running back Eli Gillman was held in check most of the evening, but did finish with 81 yards on 18 carries, thanks to a stronger second half.
The Griz stay on the road again next Saturday, and again another night game against Big Sky Conference opponent UC Davis in California. The Aggies thrashed Stetson 45-7 earlier Saturday evening.
