With Montana's Whitefish Winter Carnival ranking in the top 10 winter carnivals in the world, the theme this year being Vegas (with Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton leading the parade), it's been hard to get Vegas off the mind. It would be even harder if I had a chance to win a concert get-away to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill at the Venetian...... which you do! Kyss Country is giving you a chance to see the Soul2Soul show in style, with an excellent prize package you can check out here.

Vegas screams lights, glitter, music and... a bit of weird. The stuff to do on one strip of road is endless in Sin City. Here is my list of the top 5 things you must do while in Vegas, and they may not be the average things to do.... (If you win this trip, see if you can do as many as possible!)

Take the LOCAL Bus From the Main Strip to Old Las Vegas

It is very Important if you take a trip from the new Las Vegas to the "old" downtown (I.e. Fremont/Binions) you ride the LOCAL bus chain to get there. Not only are you surrounded by local characters, the people-watching is phenomenal! You drive right by the hit TV show Pawn Stars, and the local's commentary on the tourists trying to get on T.V. is hilarious!! There is always a line wrapped around Gold and Silver Pawn and there is ALWAYS a colorful commentator on the local bus that'll not only give you a smile, but a story to tell your friends back home.

Visit the House of Blues On a SUNDAY!

The House of Blues has a reputation for amazing music as well as food. Half-owned by Dan Aykroyd, you know the blues, music and food would be a big part of it. What a lot of people don't know is it transforms into the "Gospel House of Blues" on Sunday. The gospel music rings through the Mandalay Bay. Even if you never dance somehow the music, faith and maybe a bit of the delicious brunch will make you get the spirit and boogy with everyone else!

    Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden

Whether it is Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving or the Chinese New Year, The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden out-do themselves and change for every season and holiday. Hard to describe the splender and awe that the Bellagio puts into this area. If you do visit, another tip is you can catch Mr. & Ms. Green Thumb daily in the Conservatory between the hours of 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. providing tips and answering your questions about the gardens and displays.

    Find Guy Holding Beer Sign

The last three times I have visited Vegas, the same guy was sitting on the walk-way connecting the Excalibur and the New York New York, holding a sign that reads:   "Why lie I need Beer". This has now become a "landmark" for me. I not only stop to say hello, but I give him a dollar. I mean, he didn't lie, and it 'll probably just go down the drain of a machine. So next time you are walking from the Luxor or the Excalibur to the New York New York keep an eye out for the honest guy who just wants a beer.

    Nine Fine Irishmen Pub

Finally, after visiting my old friend holding the "Why lie I need beer" sign, pop into the New York New York and find the Nine Fine Irishmen Pub. A few fine men will be there for sure, but why not grab an Irish brew and get a paper bag on your head with a funny saying? Everything is drunk in this place including the onion rings! Cheers!
