Even if you're not a carver, it's an opportunity to marvel at the craft and talent of some incredible Montana artists.

Looking for rustic or contemporary pieces, or anything in between to compliment your decor? The Montana State Woodcarvers' Association Show is this weekend in Missoula. The show takes place  May 3-4, in the Home Arts Building of the Missoula County Fairgrounds (located just inside the South Avenue entrance). The Montana State Woodcarvers' Association is a non-profit group whose purpose is to promote, educate, and support woodcarving.  This includes, but is not limited to, traditional hand tools, power carving, and chainsaw carving. In addition to all the carvers on location, there are some virtual show display as well.

In the spirit of Christmas, this year the Montana State Woodcarvers' Association is also hosting a Christmas ornament tree at the show. These ornaments will be displayed
and sold at the show, with proceeds going to the association to offset the expenses of the show.

There is also judging of various pieces submitted by carvers.  This show’s philosophy is focused more on critique and comment than competition. The goal is to help members become better at what they do, and to encourage more people to get involved.

The show is open to the public. Admission is $5 for adults. Children under 12, when accompanied by an adult, are admitted free of charge.
