YWCA Missoula’s GUTS (Girls Using Their Strengths)! program is looking for high school-aged girls to fill its Summer Outdoor Adventure trips. The beginner high school trip is based in the Seeley Swan valley from July 19-24. The advanced high school trip, an extended backpacking trip, is based in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area from July 31-Aug. 5.

GUTS! trips are led by qualified women instructors who help to empower girls by increasing their self-confidence, helping to hone their individual strengths and cultivating their appreciation for the natural world in an environment free from societal pressures. Outdoor Adventures are designed to develop leadership skills utilizing recreation and discovery as catalysts. Trips are generally for six days and incorporate several outdoor skills such as backpacking, canoeing or rock-climbing, while introducing participants to the GUTS! leadership method.

Applications are due June 30.
