It's been a day of reflecting on the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

It's a day that a lot of us remember where we were when the news found us.  I remember being in grade school when the Challenger space shuttle exploded.  I remember taking a break from mowing the grass in the backyard when the news broke that Osama Bin Laden had been killed.  And I remember where I was when I got the news of 9-11.

I was living in Bellingham, WA at the time.  I had just moved into a new house with a roommate and we didn't have our cable hooked up yet.  My dad called me on the phone as I was laying in bed that day.  When I answered he asked if I was watching the news.  I told him I didn't have cable and he proceeded to tell me about what was taking place.  It took me a second to realize he was serious about what he was telling me.

I checked out the coverage online and I talked one of the guys at work into recording the special reports and nightly news onto a VHS tape for me.

Once in a while I'll be looking through boxes in the garage and I'll find the newspaper that I saved from that day.  It always brings the memories flooding back to mind.

Do you remember where you were when you got the news of 9-11?
