Just the other day, I spent eight hours at the Missoula Montana Airport. It was not by choice, and it was nothing the Airport did. Denver International Airport dealt with some nasty weather, grounding flights.

It would've been a lot worse had I not been at a lesser airport, so thanks for being great, MSO

I was far from the only person to fly in or out of MSO, as the venue just set a record for the number of travellers to come through.

Missoula Montana Airport Saw Record Passenger Volumes in July

July was a record-setting month according to a press release from the MSO.

"Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) is proud to announce another historic milestone, recording the highest passenger traffic in its history during July 2026. The Airport welcomed 142,399 total passengers in July, surpassing the previous record set in 2025." - MSO Airport

How Many Passengers Traveled Through MSO in July?

From last July to this July, traffic grew by almost 1,800 passengers. Enplanements went up by 1,002 fliers, but total passenger traffic spiked by 1,795 passengers.

“We are thrilled to celebrate yet another all-time passenger record here at MSO.” said Brian Ellestad, Airport Director.

“These numbers highlight the incredible support of our community, the dedication of our airline partners and the MSO team. We are grateful to the traveling public for continuing to choose MSO and our community partners for supporting strong air service in our region."
