Valerie Harper Speaks on Coma Rumors

She's always been one of my favorites. My grandma and I enjoyed watching some old shows with Valerie Harper/ She says recent reports of her being in a coma have been greatly exaggerated. 

The actress was rushed to a Maine hospital on Wednesday after losing consciousness backstage at a playhouse during a performance. Entertainment Tonight initially reported that the situation “didn’t look good” and that Valerie was in a coma.

On Friday night, she went on her Facebook page to set the record straight. “My dear friends and fans,” she wrote. “As always, thank you for your amazing support. I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma. As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn’t always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves. I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life.”

She even found a silver lining in her health scare. She said, “But I must confess that the highlight of this ordeal came when I was escorted by two handsome young men and a pilot, in a medivac helicopter, as the full moon lit the sky. Talk about movie magic!!!” (Gossip Cop)
