NEW HAVEN, CT – The University of Montana’s Trumaine Johnson is one of four repeat defensive players to headline the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2011 Football Championship Subdivision All-America team. The team was selected by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Football Championship Subdivision schools.

 

Johnson is one of three Buck Buchanan Award finalists, along with junior linebacker Matt Evans of New Hampshire and junior defensive lineman Brent Russell from Georgia Southern who were named to the defensive unit.  A 6-3, 210-pound senior cornerback from Stockton, Calif., Johnson is a not only a two-time All-American, but a  three-time All-Big Sky Conference first team pick as well. Montana’s sixth leading tackler with 54 stops, Johnson had a team-high 12 pass deflections for the 11-3 Grizzlies this past season.  He was a rare four-year starter (45 starts).  He had a school-record 36 career pass deflections and is ranked fourth (tie) in school history with 15 career pass interceptions.
