Tourists Cause Bison Stampede in Yellowstone

While you would think that videos showing people doing dumb things would actually cause fewer people to repeat those dumb things, that doesn't seem to be the case. YouTube proves this daily.

Here's another example of Yellowstone tourists doing EVERYTHING wrong, and a bison stampede is the result. While four people are seen in this video, there are actually many more outside of camera view who were agitating the bison, according to USA Today.  Watch below!

Here's what Yellowstone National Park asks of visitors on their website and in the brochure they hand out when entering the park.

• Never approach animals. The animals in Yellowstone are wild and unpredictable, no matter how calm they appear to be. The safest (and often best) view of wildlife is from inside a car. Always stay at least 100 yards (91 m) away from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards (23 m) away from all other animals, including bison and elk.
• Stay on boardwalks and trails in thermal areas. Hot springs have injured or killed more people in Yellowstone than any other natural feature. Keep your children close and don’t let them run.
• Never feed wildlife. Animals that become dependent on human food may become aggressive toward people and have to be killed. Keep all food, garbage, or other smelly items packed away when not in use.
• Never park in the road or block traffic. Use pullouts to watch wildlife and let other cars pass. Stay with your vehicle if you encounter a wildlife jam.

Most of these you would think to be common sense. Although, to be fair, we've probably all got caught up in the moment at one time or another and did something that we would have been very embarrassed about had someone been videoing us.

Maybe we should actually be thanking these people. Without them, we would have no fun videos to watch.
