Another Week, Another Yellowstone Tourist Making a Dangerous Decision

Last week, I wrote about this guy who decided it was a smart idea to taste Yellowstone National Park's thermal waters. I still don't understand having enough curiosity to taste the water that smells like rotten eggs and is hot enough to burn your skin.

Shame on me for thinking it would be the only Yellowstone touron I would write about this month.

This week, we're covering a couple of folks deciding it was a smart idea to walk onto the Grand Prismatic Spring.

Sigh.

What are we doing here? I feel like I say "what are we doing here?" every time I write about YNP, but what in the hell are we doing here? Is it a disregard for the rules of YNP? Some people simply don't care enough about things that aren't themselves.

Protect our national parks? Nah, I'd rather recklessly stumble across one of YNP's crown jewels because who cares about the ecosystem?

Maybe they can't read. Or maybe they simply choose to ignore every warning sign on their way to possible third-degree burns."

I'm at a loss for words...

No, actually, I can conjure up plenty of words discussing people breaking the rules at National Parks. I'm at a loss for understanding these mishaps.
