Bob Nester, Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Missoula told KGVO News at about 3:30 a.m. that Wednesday is officially the coldest morning of the winter.

The bitter cold temperatures exacerbated by gusty winds will continue to batter western Montana for at least the next 24 to 48 hours.

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, blowing snow and cold wind chills from 2 pm Monday to 11 am Tuesday.

It goes without saying, people need to be dressing as warm as possible before heading out and covering up as much skin as possible.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Thursday night through Friday night, February 27 and 28.

It’s going to be pretty darn cold the rest of this week. So far we’ve heard a lot about wind chill and right now it’s something we need to pay attention to when we go outside.
