The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Thursday night through Friday night, February 27 and 28.

Meteorologist Bob Nestor said anywhere from four to 12 inches of snow could fall along the I-90 corridor from Alberton to Deer Lodge.

There is a winter storm watch posted for Thursday evening through Friday evening for the Butte and Blackfoot region, the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains and the lower Clark Fork region.

The blizzard watch will be in effect from late Thursday night through Friday evening for the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys, the Potomac and Seeley Lake region and for the Flathead and Mission valleys, along with the West Glacier region.

"The reason why this storm is so dangerous is because of all the different variables," Nestor said. "There will be a lot of impacts, from heavy snow, gusty winds leading to blizzard conditions and intense cold combining through the weekend."
