Caught by the Train Again? This Rattlesnake Local Has a Fix
Last night, I was driving home after a 14-hour workday. It started bright and early at the radio station, getting all of my radio work tasks done. Then I called two matches for the Big Sky Soccer Conference Tournament on ESPN+. Finally, I called the Grizzly Men's Basketball team, whacking Ottawa at night to cap off a long, long day.
It was a great, productive, busy day, but I was ready to get home in the Rattlesnake. So there I was, driving home, yearning to fall face-first onto my couch. I turned off the radio to sit in silence and decompress for a bit. I crossed the Madison Street Bridge and Broadway to reach Greenough Drive and the home stretch of my venture. Then, everything changed when I ran into the train (figuratively).
Damnit. What was I thinking? I knew the risk of taking Greenough Drive instead of going the longer way up Rattlesnake Drive and cutting over on Lolo Street. I thought to myself, "I've lived in the Rattlesnake for months now. I've run into the train (figuratively) several times before. Why didn't I learn my lesson?"

Should I turn around and drive up Rattlesnake Drive? Should I wait for the train to go by? I don't know!
I'm not smart enough to develop an app, but I have an idea. What if we create an app that pings us when the train is blocking Greenough? It's the simplest app of all time. All it does is send you a notification when the train blocks the roadway and when it opens back up.

It's a very niche app and would only benefit you if you drive up Greenough often, but it could save you 5-10 minutes.
