The election has come and gone, and the dust has settled. Some people are thrilled with the results, while others think the world will implode.

A tale as old as time.

Hopefully, everybody's sleep schedule is back to normal because some of y'all didn't sleep a lick that night. The website Hosting Advice researched every state's average bedtimes on Election Night.

The findings indicate Montanans were relatively responsible in getting their beauty sleep. On average, Montanans went to bed at 11:06 pm on Election Night. Compare that to the top five most sleep-deprived states; we did an admirable job.

  1. New Hampshire: 4:06 am
  2. Delaware: 3:00 am
  3. Kentucky: 2:48 am
  4. Virginia: 2:39 am
  5. Connecticut: 2:36 am

The top five included states in the Eastern Time Zone, so the data is slightly skewed. They have to stay up later for almost everything. Although Montana's neighbors differed in their average bedtimes. Idaho and Wyoming were even later at 12 am and 12:06 am. North Dakota was up until 1 am on average and Washington was less than an hour behind Montana at 11:47 pm.

If I'm being honest here, I didn't follow a single bit of Election Night coverage. I know it sounds like I don't care, but I was working that night. I called the Montana Lady Griz VS Gonzaga Bulldogs game that night and then we bussed back over Lookout Pass. We lost service so I went to sleep and didn't hear a single election nugget until we got back in Missoula around 2 am.

Regardless, the Hosting Advice study on average nights of sleep was interesting.
