MPD Arrest Man for Using a Baseball Bat During a Saturday Morning Assault
At around 11:00 Saturday morning, Missoula Police Department officers responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in the 1700 block of Cooley Street. A concerned child ran up to a stranger and asked him to call 9-1-1. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.
“The officers arrived and made contact with the victim who identified the suspect as her 38-year-old boyfriend Ryan Baylor,” Welsh said. “During the course of the investigation, the officers learned that Mr. Baylor had been intoxicated earlier in the morning and that at some point during an argument with the victim he had picked up a baseball bat. While holding it in an aggressive manor, he made threats to the victim.”
The officers made contact with Baylor at the residence and arrested him without incident. Baylor is currently being held in the Missoula County Jail for assault with a weapon, partner or family member assault, and probation violation. According to the jail, this is the third or subsequent time Baylor has been arrested for partner or family member assault.
