
Montana Hit Hardest By Tariffs, Map Says
Earlier today, Thursday, March 6th, President Donald Trump paused some tariffs initially implemented towards Mexico and Canada according to NBC News.
That was the latest development in the potential North American trade war.
Montana imports most of its goods from Mexico and Canada
According to a map created by the U.S. International Trade Administration and featured in an article published by Al Jazeera shows that Montana receives a hefty majority of its foreign imports from Canada and Mexico.

The data says Montana's international imports come from Mexico and Canada at a staggering 93%. The next closest states are Maine (71%), Michigan and Vermont (70%), North Dakota (58%) and Oklahoma (57%).
The states that rely on Mexico and Canada the least when it comes to international trade is Hawai'i (4%), New Jersey (11%), Nevada, Georgia and Florida (15%).

The article goes on to break down each state's top imports from Canada and Mexico. Canada's top good coming into Montana is oil and gas. Several other states also had oil and gas atop their international import list - Washington, North Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, California, Colorado, Hawai'i and Colorado.
Montana's top product stemming from Mexico is motor vehicles. Again, several states shared motor vehicles with Montana - Washington, California, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arkansas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Rhode Island.
