On Wednesday night, Missoula Police officers responded to the report of a disturbance in the 1700 block of Cooley Street. After investigating, Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers placed one man under arrest.

“Jeffrey Burrows, who is 29-years-old and a Missoula resident, was arrested last night just after 9:00 p.m.,” Welsh said. “The officers later learned that Burrows had come out onto a front porch where another male was speaking to a female. He pointed a shotgun at the female. She retreated to the street and called 911.”

According to Welsh, this all culminated after an earlier incident.

“The male, who is also associated with the suspect’s residence, spoke to the female’s spouse and made the spouse feel uncomfortable,” Welsh said. “She had gone to the other male’s residence. She was confronted by the suspect who came out behind the male she was speaking to and committed the assault.”

Welsh says officer located Burrows and he was taken into custody. He is awaiting arraignment on one count of felony assault with a weapon.
