University of Montana head football coach Mick Delaney is looking on the bright side as fall drills get underway for his young football team. With four quarterbacks that have virtually no college game experience, Delaney said they are competing hard for that starting role. Suspended quarterback Jordan Johnson has been charged with rape, and is not part of the team.

Delaney said the Griz have a strong and experienced offensive line, running backs and linebacking corps, but are young at defensive end and at the corners.

With the graduation of Brody McKnight, Delaney is looking a brand new punter and placekicker, as well. The Griz will have one-a-day practices through Saturday, then start two-a-days on Sunday…all at the River Bowl practice area.

The first Grizzly scrimmage will be Sunday at about 7:45 pm inside Washington Grizzly stadium.
