First Time in 30 Years – There May be No Missoula Senior All Night Party
Well this is disheartening, there may not be a Misoula High School Senior All Night Party this year.
Missoula high school seniors have been celebrating graduation with the safe but fun, alcohol & drug free dance party hosted by MCPS parents since the 1980's. However, due to lack of funds and parent participation, it's not looking good for this year.
The minimum needed to pull off this free graduation party is $9,500. Organizers currently have $2,700, meaning they are just about $6,000 short of even having the party, let alone being able to purchase enough prizes for all graduates to leave with a little something. There is also no money in the account for this year’s juniors to have a start in planning for next year.
Here's how you can help. Organizers are requesting the following from the public, and keep in mind this is for ALL high school graduates, not just one specific school.
- People willing to contact 3-5 businesses for donations of goods/prizes. They are a 501 ©3 organization so all donations are tax deductible. Reach out to MissoulaSrParty@gmail.com if you are interested and they can give you a list of businesses.
- People to coordinate ticket sales at each of the 3 high schools during lunch hours.
- People to request cash donations from businesses.
- People to donate $5.00 or $10.00 each (or more!).
