Have you seen any posts on Facebook urging you to copy and paste some legal info about Facebook? As of January 4, 2015...stuff? The language that insists you own the content you post? Don't bother, it's a hoax.

Don't worry, you're not opening your computer up to some unknown virus. It's just a waste of time. Although Facebook's user agreement has all sorts of stipulations about what it can share with third parties, the social network itself points out that you retain the copyright to all your photos, videos and silly posts.

The danger in doing this comes if you believe it affords you some kind of protection of your privacy beyond Facebook's user agreement. It doesn't. You're stuck with the network's policies about sharing information, and your only recourse is to stop using it altogether.
