Does Bear Spray Work on Bison?

As I head into the depression of another year older and have decided to do an adventure. The problem is when you decided to go on a hike in Yellowstone just because you're getting older you could get hurt...or gored by a Bison. 

I haven't been to Yellowstone since I was 12 and in recent years the accidents there have seemingly increased from falls, to animal incidents to getting lost. I have one major questions though. I have a good sense of direction, hate heights so chances I won't be high enough to fall but want to know if bear spray is going to protect me
