Colonel Sanders Facing Retirement at New Line of KFCs

I'm sure the first thing that comes to most folks' minds when they think of iconic fast food images is the golden arches. But I don't think the white haired elderly gentleman with glasses, smile and an overgrown soul patch is far behind. Well, Associated Press reports that the Colonel is getting retired at a new chain of KFC restaurants, "KFC Eleven." They'll start opening next month and will serve items such as flatbreads with toppings, rice bowls and salads. You can still get chicken, but only boneless pieces of Original Recipe. "KFC Eleven" refers to the 11 herbs and spices Colonel Sanders originally used. But the iconic image of the Colonel will not be seen. Hmmmm. Well, okay. I'll still just take a big ol' bucket of extra crispy with that happy guy on it, watching me eat, thank you very much! DB
