Blake Shelton Calls in Meghan Trainor to Help Find ‘The Voice’
Blake Shelton recently resumed his role as a coach on NBC's hit show The Voice, and he has enlisted Meghan Trainor to be his new celebrity advisor.
The 21-year-old pop star rose to nationwide fame after releasing several hit songs, including "All About That Bass" and "Lips Are Movin'." E! News shares that Trainor will mentor Team Blake in the exciting Battle Rounds, which start on Monday, March 9. Trainor is no stranger to The Voice however — she performed her popular song "Lips Are Movin'" on the show last season. Trainor was nominated for two Grammys (Record of the Year and Song of the Year) when her first single, "All About That Bass," became an overnight sensation.
In previous years, Shelton has asked Kelly Clarkson, the Band Perry, Reba McEntire, Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Cher and Michael Buble to be his guest advisors.
The country hitmaker is looking forward to having Trainor as a celebrity advisor this season, and he's thrilled to continue coaching on The Voice. "Some of the most exciting things that’s happened for me in recent times is seeing artists that I’ve worked with on this show have some success, whether it’s getting a record deal, whether it’s winning an award,” Shelton says of why he returned for another season of the show. “Whatever it is, being nominated for awards — those are the things that keep me coming back here as a coach on The Voice.”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8PM ET on NBC.
