Blake Shelton Returns to ‘The Voice’ Following Divorce
Blake Shelton has returned to The Voice, and he's bringing baggage. In one of his first tweets since his divorce from Miranda Lambert became public, the singer shared that he's literally bringing luggage to the set.
So far, Shelton's first tweets as a newly-single man haven't been much different from his last as a married man. The recently-divorced singer mixed humor, drinking and cursing in a tightly-worded, 59 character tweet sent on Tuesday (July 21).
Shelton frequently ends tweets with “B---h...," so don't look too much into it. While the singer kept the message on track, he did do one thing that spoke to his divorce from Miranda Lambert. A photo of her covering Marie Claire magazine was replaced by the "Sangria" singer playing in front of a sea of lights. Lambert also removed images of Shelton from her Twitter page on Tuesday.
The couple's divorce was finalized Monday (July 20).
The tweet about returning to the NBC set came around 9AM CT on Wednesday morning. Season 9 of the hit reality series is expected to begin this fall. Shelton is thought to be taping auditions currently. So far, he hasn't shied away from publicity, although he hasn't mentioned the divorce, either. Over the weekend — just days before the news became public — he was partying in New Hampshire, doing karaoke to Tracy Byrd songs on Saturday night and posing with Adam Sandler at a NASCAR race the next day.
Meanwhile, all has been quiet on Lambert’s social media pages. Her last messages were in regards to an unplugged Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars show on July 28 in Nashville. The show sold out within minutes.
