The weather was not perfect, but Stevensville's annual Western Heritage Days brought a large crowd to the town. The Saturday morning parade had plenty of horses, horse-drawn vehicles and other entries. The light sprinkle of rain didn't stop the smiles and cheers as the entries moseyed down Main Street.

Grand Marshals this year were Bitterroot Star reporter Jean Schurman and former Stevensville Main Street Association director Joan Prather. The Main Street Association put this event together, with the help of lots of sponsors and volunteers. There were two street dances, a food court and beer garden, craft vendors - and that was just on Main Street. At the St. Mary's Mission area, the Salish were drumming, dancing and hosting kids' games and the Ned Larson Memorial Chuck Wagon cook-off served up some great barbeque. Next up for Stevensville, the annual Stevensville Creamery Picnic on the first weekend in August. If you'd like to help volunteer, contact Stevensville City Hall or the Main Street Association.
