I was having a conversation with someone at the station the other day and they were telling me how they saw a tiger for the first time at ZooMontana last week. I grew up going to the zoos in Seattle and later lived in Tampa where they have a pretty incredible zoo, not to mention Busch Gardens. I guess I took it for granted, or just never really thought about the fact that some people have never seen various creatures up close and personal.

Well, have you ever seen a sloth in person?  Don't feel too bad if the answer is no. They just kind of laid there the few times I saw one.  But, if you feel like your life won't be complete until you do lay eyes on one, a two-toed sloth is gearing up to be the newest addition to ZooMontana's roster of animals. The zoo's new resident is 18 months old, weighs 12 pounds, and should be settling into his new digs by the end of next month.

The only thing that was missing for ZooMontana's incoming sloth was a name. A contest was held that resulted in over 1,000 suggestions and five final options. After more than 8,000 online votes were counted - our nameless sloth shall be nameless no more. He'll now be known as Winston!

Winston is already kind of a rockstar on social media. You can follow his journey to ZooMontana with pictures, info and more HERE. You'll see some cool pictures from Winston's trip to Montana and maybe learn a thing or two as well. Like, did you know sloths sleep an average of 18 hours a day?
