Nope, this is a call from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks to join them,as they are already thinking about frozen lakes, five layers of wool, and the unmistakable hum of an ice auger.

Angela Montana from the Montana Outdoor Radio Show points out that planning for the 2026-2027 ice fishing contest season is officially underway, and the state wants to hear from the anglers, lakeside locals, and cold-weather enthusiasts who care most about what happens out on the hard deck.

Whether you’re eager to see your favorite tournament return or have thoughts on how a specific lake handles tournament traffic, now is your chance to weigh in before the schedules get locked down.
