Your New Kitten is Waiting at Humane Society of Western Montana

You can tell that the staff at the humane society has a great sense of humor, naming kittens after arctic birds!

MEET AUKLET AND PUFFIN

It was another Take Me Home Tuesday at the radio stations with the Humane Society of Western Montana. Jessie introduced us to Auklet and Puffin, who along with their two siblings Penguin and Skua, have their paws on the ground just about ready to run into your arms.

And of course you are under no contractual obligation to keep any of those names.

This 8-week-old foursome has been in volunteer adult foster care, waiting to reach the age for spaying or neutering, which happens this week. Just like many of the kittens waiting to be adopted, they are ready to be taken home or will be in a matter of days.

Black and white Puffin was the more outgoing and feisty of these two. She wanted to get out of her crate and play.

Auklet, mostly black with just a few small white markings, was a little more unsure of his surroundings, but he warmed up soon to the glitz and glamour of radio broadcasting!

ANOTHER FREE VACCINES AND MICROCHIPS EVENT NEXT WEEK

Once again, the Humane Society will be conducting one of their free vaccine clinics - the annual and the rabies - and mircochip days, Thursday, September 3, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Missoula's Silver Park. The free walk-in clinic is first come, first served. The Humane Society typically tends to just over 100 dogs and cats during these events. Getting their as early as possible and patience are encouraged.

Silver Park sits directly west of Ogren Park at Allegiance Field and Currents Aquatic Center.
