Would You Blame Your Death on Your Favorite Football Team?
Even if my beloved Montana Grizzlies fell on horrendous times, I don't think I would blame them for my passing.
But we have a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio, who did make reference to his woeful Cleveland Browns as a contributing factor in his passing. Maybe due to the Browns' passing. And running. And defending. And blocking. And kicking....
In any case, our condolences to the family of 80-year-old Paul Stark, who AP says died at a hospice facility, just days before the Browns wrapped up a 0-16 season. That performance is on the heels of a 1-15 season in 2016. In sense of humor fashion, Mr. Stark wanted included in his obituary that his death was in part because he was "exacerbated by the hopeless condition of the Cleveland Browns." But there was also a note of optimism, as he expressed regret that he "passed just before the Browns were about to turn the corner."
Well, we'll see about that. But rest in peace, Mr. Stark. Maybe this will indeed inspire them to turn the corner. And run down the field and score a touchdown.
