At around 10:30 Tuesday night, Missoula Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a woman covered in blood at the Holiday Gas Station on Higgins Avenue. Officers arrived and located the victim, who was covered in a large amount of blood and had several injuries. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officers arrived and made contact with the victim and the clerk who reported that the adult female had simply come in and requested that she call 911,” Welsh said. “The female suspect and all other parties were located. They all had arrived in a vehicle. The witnesses stated that an argument had erupted inside the car between the victim and an ex-partner that resulted in the victim being cut or stabbed several times with some type of an edged weapon.”

Court documents indicate the victim had a laceration to the top of her head, roughly 4 inches in length, a laceration to her left hand between her thumb and pointer finger, a laceration on her middle finger on the left hand, a stab wound on the inside of her left palm, and a stab wound to the outside of her right hand.

“She was transported to the hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries,” Welsh said. “The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Carla Creemedicine, was placed under arrest and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.”

Creemedicine said she and the victim were in the vehicle together and the victim challenged her to fight at the Holiday Gas Station. Creemedicine said the victim started to punch her and she defended herself. Creemedicine stated that she didn’t know how the victim would have been cut and that there was no weapon involved in their fight.

Creemedicine was charged with one count of felony assault with a weapon.
