The feel-good accolades continue to roll in for the University of Montana Grizzlies after their resounding 35-16 win over Weber State Saturday.

Two Montana Grizzlies have been named ROOT Sports Big Sky  Conference Players of the Week for their outstanding efforts during the big win. On offense, Wide receiver Samori Toure and on defense, linebacker Jace Lewis each earned the weekly honor, both for the first time in their careers.

Toure racked up a career-high 193 receiving yards and three touchdowns, including electrifying catch-and-run scores of 79 and 59 yards. And Jace Lewis had a game-high 16 tackles, 7 of them solo, which was a key performance in not allowing the Wildcats to run the ball effectively the entire game.

The Griz have moved up to a #3 ranking in this week's FCS poll as they get ready to Brawl with the Bobcats this Saturday. Scott Gurnsey and I will be on the air with the pregame broadcast beginning at 10:00 a.m., in Missoula on KGVO, FM 98.3 and AM 1290, and in Hamilton on 1240 KLYQ.

Congrats to Samori and Jace and to the entire Griz team for your performance last Saturday! Lots of football still to go, Griz Nation!
