The Roxy Theater Plans Free Outdoor Screenings On The Hip Strip
The Roxy Theater in Missoula hasn't announced an official reopening date yet (though, if rumors are to be believed, we should be hearing about it soon), but they have been very, very busy. They've been working with the Missoula Paddleheads to kick off year two of movie screenings at Ogren Park with Centerfield Cinema, and they're currently screening films in the Roxy Garden, throughout Missoula, and virtually for the International Wildlife Film Festival.
And now, it looks like the theater is adding one more thing to their plate - outdoor movie screenings on the Hip Strip! Their plan is to get a setup going in the parking lot across the street from the Roxy, complete with an inflatable screen. And even better, the plan is to screen these movies for FREE.
But in order to make that a reality, they're gonna need some help. Missoula Gives is coming up this week, an annual event meant to raise awareness and drive donations to a variety of nonprofits throughout Missoula. And The Roxy is asking for your donations - that money will go towards the cost of the inflatable screen, plus venue rental costs and movie screening fees.
If you want more info, you can check out the Facebook event page that the Roxy set up. And if you need details about anything else the theater is going, you can always visit them at their website.
Are you excited for the possibility of more outdoor movie screenings coming to Missoula? What movies would you want to see over there?
