I love going to the movies. Even in 2025, with all the on-demand options you can access from your home, I love going to the movies.

Watching a film at the theater is the best viewing experience. Even though you're comfortable at home watching the lame live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch on your 40-inch television, you're missing out on maximum viewing pleasure by skipping the theater.

I hope people attend more movies, especially at the Roxy Theater. It's an awesome ma & pa business that we shouldn't take for granted. Nowadays, most theaters have been overtaken by AMC, Cinemark, or other big conglomerates.

That being said, there are those who want to ruin your theater-going experience...

Please be quiet when at the movies

I went to the Roxy to watch Spirited Away. It was a good movie that I had meant to watch for years. I enjoyed it, but what I didn't enjoy were the two women behind me who talked for far too much of the movie.

They were whispering back and forth about the movie and their observations. I really can't believe people are that inconsiderate.

If you ask your friend a question about the movie once or twice, ok fine. I can live with that, but these two were yapping for a lot of the movie.

That is so unbelievably rude.

Did people forget how to behave in a movie theater post-COVID? When has talking in a quiet theater ever been ok?

It absolutely, positively, 100% drives me up the wall.

Get your thoughts out during the previews. During the movie, I need you to zip it.

Last year, I had a rant about people bringing their loud babies to the movie theaters, too.

Anyways, support your local theaters, but do so respectfully, would you?
