Missoula’s Spooky Season Starts Here: Horror Films, Skating & Thrills
Here's what's happening in Missoula this weekend, October 16-19 — yes, we count Thursday nights because why not?
Spooky Season at the Roxy Theater
My favorite part about the Roxy Theater is the throwback films. They show classics and have running themes throughout the year. Now that it's October, the Rox has a full slate of horror films on the big screen this weekend.
- The Thing (1982) (Thursday, October 16 at 5:30 and 7:30 pm)
- The Phantom of the Opera (1925) (Friday, October 17th at 5:15 and 7:45 pm, Sunday, October 19th at 4:45 and 7 pm)
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1977) (Friday, October 17th at 8 pm and Saturday, October 18th at 8 pm)
- Good Boy (NEW RELEASE) (Friday, October 17th at 8:15 pm, Saturday, October 18th at 7:45 pm, and Sunday, October 19th at 6 and 8 pm)
- Goosebumps (2015) (Saturday, October 18th at 1 pm)
- The Descent (2005) (Sunday, October 19th at 7:30 pm)
The Cosmos: From the Big Bang to the End of Time
When's the last time you caught a show at the University of Montana Planetarium Dome? This Saturday, October 18th, at 6 and 7 pm, you can "trace the origins and evolution of the cosmos in a scientific journey through time and the observable universe."

Volunteer to "Pink Out" Washington-Grizzly Stadium
UM needs volunteers to help turn Washington-Grizzly Stadium into a sea of pink. Saturday is the annual "Think Pink" game against the Sacred Heart Pioneers. Volunteers are needed to hand out pink signs on Saturday. If you'd like to help promote breast cancer awareness, then follow this link.
PEAS Farm's Pumpkin Party
Join those at PEAS Farm on Saturday, October 18, from 11 am to 3 pm for its annual Pumpkin Party. Pumpkins are for sale with carving stands, produce stands, and cider.

Spooky Skate
The Halloween ramp-up continues with Spooky Skate at Glacier Ice Rink. It's the 13th annual event this Sunday, October 19th, from 12 to 1:45 pm.
This family-friendly public skate features Halloween-themed music, an on-ice costume contest, and a short performance of Michael Jackson's Thriller by the Missoula Figure Skating Club - missoulaevents.net
Admission is $13. More information can be found here.
Charles Wesley Godwin at the Wilma
With over 2.5 million listeners on Spotify, Charles Wesley Godwin brings his American country folk music to the Wilma Theater on Sunday, October 19th at 7 pm. The bad news is that tickets are sold out. Good luck finding them on secondary markets!
