The Roller Coaster of ‘Home Ownership’
Today I got a new appreciation for being a home owner. We had to replace our hot water heater. Ugh.
Two nights ago for some reason my wife (Savannah) and I couldn't get hot water to come out of our sink. After looking around for a few minutes we realized that the breaker had popped for the water heater. Wishing for the best, we just reset the breaker and tried not to think much of it. Last night as I was getting ready for bed I felt some damp carpet in our hallway. The hot water heater was on the other side of the wall from the damp carpet, so I checked and sure enough, there was water on the floor. Luckily not a ton of water so we turned off water to the heater and started looking into a replacement.
Savannah woke up early today and purchased a replacement as soon as the hardware store opened their doors. Then after purchase found out they couldn't help with installation for two weeks, obviously that was not an option. So after calling around to six or seven businesses and only finding two or three that could even fit it in their schedule, I found a great local plumber and everything work out fine. It took all day and cost too much but really it's just another day riding the roller coaster of home ownership!
