Eric Beyer, owner and pharmacist at Granite Pharmacy in Missoula, described to KGVO this week just how he and his local pharmacy became the go-to source for Missoula County Public Schools personnel to receive their COVID 19 vaccinations.

Missoula’s Granite Pharmacy will be vaccinating all Missoula County Public School teachers and staff this week, according to MCPS Public Information Officer Hatton Littman.

MCPS recently started Phase 2 of their reopening.

The Missoula County Public Schools Board of Trustees decided at their Tuesday night meeting to upgrade participation for students in the next semester.

The Missoula Family YMCA is planning to decrease its out of school program costs by as much as 50 percent, while also adding more program sites for school children.

With higher and higher COVID 19 case numbers being recorded in Missoula County, the Public School Board of Trustees has mandated that the transition to the next phase for MCPS be delayed.

MCPS plans to transition to Phase 2 in October, where students will eventually be in the classroom five days a week.

A letter was sent to parents at Missoula’s Sentinel High School from school officials, Missoula County Public Schools and the Missoula City County Health Department about a student with a confirmed case of COVID 19.

The first full week of Missoula public school is in the books and to say it has been different from other first weeks is a definite understatement.

Thousands of kids from kindergarten to high school will enter a brave new world on Wednesday morning, as each child will be mindful of protecting themselves against COVID 19.
