The Rock Creek Mercentile is where I learned to tie the "wonder bugger". A streamer I expect to catch some hogs ( as in big fish not actual swine).

Well they call it a fish of a 1000 casts..I am going to change that to the fish of 3000 casts.

I am preparing to go Steelhead fishing in Idaho. You may not know exactly what a Steelhead is but you may have heard of the Idaho Steelheads that play our hockey team, or Maybe have eaten Steelhead before.

You know the great thing about tying flies is there is no real pattern to one certain fly, a lot very and some are created just by imagination.

I have recently taken up fly tying since I have not been having much luck winter fly fishing so maybe tying some flies would be good! Well lets just say you are going to want to have a bit of patience to start but I hear once you get it down it becomes a lot more relaxing and fun...

At it again winter fly fishing, this time we hit Hamilton and the Bitterroot. It was actually a beautiful day, after the Seahawks/Vikings game we embarked on the river.

To some there is no down time when it comes to fishing, fishing all year in Montana to some is crazy but with the proper gear you are just fine. There is one big purchase I think is necessary when it comes to winter fly fishing and that is boots that allow for the use of cleats...
