Friday, the start of the weekend and time to fish! So I grabbed my rod and met my friend john at the Rock Creek mercantile to see what water monsters we could catch.
There are some unique things about living in Montana that you just don’t have living anywhere else. I should know, after all, I have left Montana once or twice. You can trust me when I tell you there is no place on earth like it. That is why every time I have left Montana, I’ve always chosen to come back (usually as quickly as I could).
The tug is the drug is so true when it comes to fishing, especially fly fishing! It was a beautiful Sunday in the Missoula area yesterday and what a better way to spend a day then fishing!
Over $30,000 dollars in giveaways and up come the 30lb anchors. The words rang out, "out of all the cool things, I'll probably win an anchor". That's exactly what happened, won an anchor for the boat I don't have.
At least I won something right...
If you've listened to the morning show on KYSS Fm ( Mike and Charene) then you probably heard me talking about fishing... a lot. I'm not sure if it's this pro-longed winter we are having but that's all that's on my mind. Luckily I am taking a trip to Florida for my first time and fishing in the ocean for my first time. Not only is Loma a record holder for temperature change,103 degrees in 24 hours; 54 below to 49 above. In the right season the fishing can be pretty good.http://youtu.be/Hk3Jkhc2pv8
Just because the weather gets a little colder soon, doesn’t mean that Missoula and Western Montana close the blinds and hibernate for the winter. In fact, the opposite is true. There is just as much to enjoy about our fair city when the snow flies, as when the sun shines 20 hours a day...
“Jaws” is one of those cult movie favorites. It came out in the 1970’s and was a huge hit. There are so many scenes in in that people have as their favorites.
Did you know that just a few miles west of Missoula sits a whitewater rafters dream? Yes, the Alberton Gorge is home to class II and class III rapids. This stretch of whitewater boasts five major rapids, and numerous smaller rapids. Not only is this a whitewater lover’s dream, it is just plain fun for anyone.
