So, both my birthday and my husband’s birthday are in July. We usually do a joint birthday party since they are only a week apart. Of course, we do the usual barbecue and red solo cup combo. This year I would like to do something different. Maybe a little fancier. Maybe not. It depends on your taste in décor. I’ve found some really cool rustic and woodsy decorations.

Stump platter – Just take a small piece of tree and hot glue a platter to the top. So easy and so cool.

Tree cake stand – Take a 2-4” slice of a large round piece of wood and place a cake platter on top. Top with a cake. This would be great for a rustic wedding too.

Tree cupcake stand – Take 3 slices 1 1/2-3” thick of round wood in large, medium and small sizes. Then take a tree about 2” in diameter and cut it into 2 even 4-5” chunks. Place the largest slice on the counter, then super glue a 2” diameter piece in the center of it and then glue the middle slice to the top. Glue the next 2” diameter piece to the center of the middle sized slice, and then glue the smallest slice on top.

Mason jar drinks – Pre-make some delicious summer beverages and pour them into mason jars. Place the lids on the jars and put them in a big bucket filled with ice. So cute.

Mason jar to-go cups – These are great for kids. Drill a hole in the top of a mason jar with a power drill. Then put a rivet in the hole so there are no sharp edges. Put juice or some other drink kids love in the jar and place the lid on top. Put a straw in the jar.
