The races have been set for the November General Election in Ravalli County.

Many of the incumbents are moving on to the November contest, with the exception of State Senator Gary MacLaren, who lost the Republican vote to Fred Thomas.

In the contest for Clerk of District Court, Paige Allen Trautwein defeated Maureen Draper Presswood and Frederick Schiwal on the Republican ballot, and Marie Keeton defeated Valerie Stamey to run in the general election for County Treasurer.

County commissioners Greg Chilcott and J.R. Iman, both Republicans, outpolled opponents in yesterday’s voting.

State Legislators Edward Greef, Ron Ehli, and Pat Connell will move on the General Election, too.

The Lone Rock voters passed a school bond issue by a vote of 637 in favor and 298 against.

A labeling problem with one of the election reports caused the Ravalli County Election officials to second-guess their results and re-examine their precinct reports during the count of ballots Tuesday night.

The labels on the total of number of votes cast were wrong, but the numbers were right and the count continued, with none of the individual races affected.

County Clerk and Recorder Regina Plettenberg said that it a precautionary measure to make sure the computer counting programs were not at fault, and that it was a simple printing error on the report. The counting crew worked until 4am, and will return today to finish tallying the write-in votes.

All vote totals at this time are unofficial. The official canvass will be scheduled within 10 days.
