The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office have been patrolling the local bridges - trying to stop divers, not drivers.

The bridge on the Woodside cut-off road between US 93 and Corvallis has been officially designated "off limits" to people who want to jump off a high place into the refreshingly cool Bitterroot River.

Other bridges are being used as diving boards throughout the county. Officers note that most of those bridges are barely two lanes wide, and when you add pedestrians to that narrow roadway, accidents can happen.

Drivers need to be extra cautious on the Bitterroot Valley bridges.

And for those adventurous swimmers, the word from law enforcement - for your own safety, don't dive off the bridges!
