There's nothing like watching the fireworks at a baseball game! Oh, and just to clarify, I'm not talking about the fireworks that result from a batter being hit by a pitch from the opposing team. That was the scene over the weekend between the Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners as emotions ran high and caused a 20-minute delay in the game.

While it's always entertaining to see the overpaid millionaires do a little pushing and shoving, the fireworks I'm referring to are obviously the ones that go boom in the night. The Missoula PaddleHeads will be lighting up the sky on Friday as they hold their Independence Day fireworks show after the game. It's always one of the biggest nights of the year at Ogren Park and the PaddleHeads remind you to get your tickets early. Gates will open at 5:30 and you can enjoy Happy Hour before the game. In addition to the fireworks, the PaddleHeads are playing good baseball and as I write this they've won 7 games in a row. It will be great to get a big crowd out to the ballpark on Friday night! Get tickets HERE.

The fireworks after the game will serve as Missoula's biggest display during the 4th of July weekend since the show at Southgate Mall was cancelled earlier this month. We're still not exactly sure the reason behind the cancellation but there's been a lot of talk around the country this year about staffing issues and not having qualified individuals to operate the fireworks displays. It sounds like they hope the activities and fireworks at the mall will return next summer.

Also, if you're looking for something to do on the 4th of July, don't forget about the 4th at the Fort being held at Fort Missoula. It's the first time they're able to hold the event without restrictions since 2019. You can enjoy the day with music, games, food trucks, and much more.
