Missoula is Groovin’ to Free Funk of July Music Festival Sunday
With the ridiculous fuel-ishness of the cost of vehicle travel right now, many of you will be looking for entertainment close to home.
An afternoon/evening outdoor music event might help fill a number of hours on your Fourth of July weekend calendar. And while we have no Funk Compass, we'll assume the music will lead us in several directions, covering a number of years and genres. And all of you are invited.
Missoula's second annual Free Funk of July Funk Music Festival will be at Silver Park Pavilion (adjacent to McCormick Park) this Sunday, July 3, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. It's a day of funk and fun with both DJs and live local bands to keep things hoppin'.
There is also an excellent variety of food trucks, including:
- Empanada Joint
- Mountain Berry Bowls
- Middle Terranean Wraps
- Aiko's Japanese Fusion
- Back to the Mother Kombucha
- PEARL Boba Tea
- Shivelight Premium Beverage Company
Adult beverages will be served up by the VFW.
Scheduled music providers include:
- Shakewell
- Tesseract
- Mark Myriad & The Honey Horns
- Pony P
- Coach Shane
Some yard games are planned in addition to all the funky music, too. There is no charge to attend, thanks in part to a number of local businesses who have stepped up as sponsors. BUT, that does not mean there aren't some operating expenses to cover when you put on a fun community event like this.
A suggested "ticket donation" of $10 per person is requested. If the music moves and grooves you, that ticket donation can be made there at the event. If you would like to make a ticket donation in advance, you can do that here.
Here's to a funky Sunday!
