The good news: Obesity rates haven't gone up in the past year. The bad news: They haven't gone down, either.

Data released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that 68.6 of U.S. adults are either overweight or obese. 22 states have obesity rates above 30 percent, and three states -- West Virginia, Mississippi and Arkansas -- are above 35 percent.

By comparison, in 1980, no state had an obesity rate above 15 percent.

Colorado has the lowest obesity rate in America at 21.2 percent. (CBS News)
