At around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, a Missoula Police Officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of Russell Street and Wyoming. According to the officer, the vehicle almost struck other vehicles in the intersection. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as 33-year-old Michael Lundahl,” Welsh said. “Lundahl was subsequently arrested for DUI and then was found to be in possession of a substance that was later determined to be cocaine.”

When the officer asked Lundahl how much he had to drink, he replied “quite a bit.” Mr. Lundahl then completed the standardized field sobriety tests. The officer asked if Lundahl would also provide a Preliminary Breath Test. He agreed and a sample with a result of .130 BAC was obtained.

Lundahl was then taken to the Missoula County Detention Facility. He is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and DUI. He has one prior DUI conviction.
