Have you devoted fans ever looked through your closets and drawers and thought, "Geez, I sure don't wear this anymore!" Or ever?

I feel you, fellow fans. With all the logo wear I've accumulated over the years, gently or never used, maybe I'd qualify for an entire free keg.

Okay, that's a real stretch. But I invite you to join me in my wardrobe wandering, to see what all could be put to better use in the hands of University of Montana students.

UM News Service tells us that it's time for the Griz Gear Grab, Tuesday, September 3, at Highlander Beer, 200 International Drive, Missoula.  The UM Alumni Association invites friends, alumni and fans to donate gently worn pieces of Griz logo wear in exchange for a free beer. Yep, have some suds and unload some duds.

Community members who bring in two or more gently worn pieces of Griz gear to Highlander Beer will receive a complimentary beer from the UM Alumni Association. Pretty much all types of clothing are greatly appreciated, including long and short-sleeve T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters, jackets and hats.

Even if beer is not your thing, think of what an awesome gesture on your part a donation would be.

The goal is to rally together the Griz community to support new students and others. By donating Griz gear, you’re not just passing on a piece of clothing – you’re sharing the Griz spirit and helping every student feel a part of our vibrant community.

All Griz gear collections will be distributed at the inaugural Griz Gear Grab, which will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, on the UM Oval, where students are invited to pick up the donated Griz gear.  All Grizzly fans, friends and alumni are welcome to the event. Participants do not have to be a UM alum to participate or receive a free beer.

The event is hosted by UM New Student Success, the UM Advocates, UM Alumni Association, UM Sustainability and UM Marketing.
