The MCSO provided the following statement:

Missoula County Search and Rescue search crews found Linda Maedche in good spirits, walking along the creek in the Petty Creek drainage, approximately 1.5 miles from her home.
She was located with the use of a drone at approximately 11 a.m. She was transported by ambulance as a precaution for follow-up medical care.
More than 30 searchers participated in this search over the course of the last two days. Multiple agencies, including Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and Frenchtown Fire, contributed to this successful outcome. Additionally, residents and concerned neighbors played a critical role aiding in this search and providing valuable information to help pin-point areas of focus. Thank you to all those who contributed their time and resources!!

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is still actively searching for a missing woman.

Missoula Search and Rescue is currently conducting a ground search for Linda Maedche in the Petty Creek area. Linda is a 72-year-old woman with dementia.
Personnel from Mineral County Sheriff's Office, Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, and Frenchtown Fire are also assisting in search.
Ground teams, ATVs, UTVs, drones, and a boat are being utilized in the efforts to locate Linda.
She was last seen on foot in gray sweatpants and a black and white flannel shirt early Wednesday morning near Runyon Drive and Bible Lane. She may have traveled into Mineral County.
