At around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Missoula Police Officers responded to an area in the 2800 block of Washburn Street for the report of an intoxicated male who was threatening neighbors. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“Officers made two responses to the area for complaints on a 35-year-old male who was later identified as Buckleycole Ackerman,” Welsh said. “Neighbors had complained that Mr. Ackerman was outside being disorderly and making threats. Officers located him at the scene and warned him for his behavior.”

Ackerman informed officers that he was intoxicated because he had recently broken up with his girlfriend. Officers gave Ackerman a warning regarding being disorderly and told him not to drive.

“However, shortly after officers left, he continued his behavior and made threats toward his neighbors who had obviously called 911,” Welsh said. “The officers returned for a second complaint where they observed Mr. Ackerman leaving the scene in a vehicle. He was stopped and subsequently arrested for DUI.”

Court documents indicate Ackerman was verbally noncompliant and did not obey officers’ commands. Ackerman stated things like “do you know who I am,” and “I will have your badge.”

Ackerman refused to provide a breath sample and he was transported to St. Patrick Hospital for a blood draw. During the transportation, Ackerman told the officer of all “the mistakes” the officer had made and requested sexual acts. Ackerman also stated he would find the officer’s family for what he had done.

Ackerman was charged with felony DUI. He has three prior DUI convictions, making this one a felony offense.
