At around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a Missoula Police Officer recognized a vehicle in the Montana Lil's casino parking lot on Reserve Street. The officer knew the vehicle was associated with 30-year-old Logan Cold and that Cold was currently on felony probation. The officer was aware that felony probationers are not allowed in bars or casinos at any time. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officer stopped at the casino, went inside, and found Mr. Cold who he began a consensual conversation with,” Welsh said. “Eventually, the officer escorted Mr. Cold outside where he was placed under arrest for a probation violation. Mr. Cold was then found to be in possession of methamphetamine.”

Court documents indicate the officer observed apparent drug paraphernalia in plain view in Cold’s car, including a broken piece of a methamphetamine smoking pipe, a marijuana smoking bong, and several small baggies.

The officer then conducted a search of Cold’s person and located a small baggie in Cold’s pocket, which contained methamphetamine.

Cold was placed under arrest and transported to the detention facility. Detention staff conducted a routine inventory search of Cold’s person and an officer observed a clear baggie on the floor next to Cold’s foot when he was removing his left shoe. That baggie also contained methamphetamine.

Cold is currently being charged with one count of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs. His charging documents can be found here.
